Summer Comiket
I'm posting now while I'm waiting for the rice to be cooked because I won't have time to post tomorrow.
Finally, I'm leaving for Singapore tomorrow night. My flight's at 7pm but I'll be leaving Mitaka at 1:30. Bought a ticket for the Odakyu Limousine Bus which goes straight from Kichijoji to Narita Airport. Cost 3,000yen but that okay compared to the number of transfers I need to do if I take the train. Not to mention I'm lugging a stroller half my size + my laptop. 楽だもん。
Why leave at 1:30 when the appointed time for check-in still at 5pm? You see, I have this tendency to get lost easily. Or do something wrong in the process so I have go back to a place or whatever. Either way, I need lots of time to go around Narita Airport. I remember the day of my departure for Japan, the lady at JAL's check-in counter didn't give me an embarkation card so after queueing up for more than ten minutes in the Immigration part, I had to go back and get an embarkation card and fill it out and queue up again.o(>_<)o So yeah, I can't remember who told me this, but I think it's Ali, "you need plenty of time to get lost."
Yesterday, went around Tokyo to buy stuff for friends. I stopped by the post office on the way to the station to send Mothers' Day (May 11) cards. I went to Shinjuku first for Ate Mia's artbook, but unfortunately, Books Kinokuniya ran out of stock. So I just decided to look for Gift Gate to buy Pam's Keroppi something. I wasn't able to find a pencil, but I hope she'll like what I bought for her. Next stop was Ikebukuro, to buy stuff for Ann, Triccie and Ate Mia. I was able to buy a Namame (Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden) stuffed toy!:3 I love that character to bits so I bought it.XD Went back to Mitaka and bought 2000yen worth of chocolates for Terry's aunt and some snacks for our trip. Last on the list was 100yen shop to buy those rough bath towels for my mother.:P 私はけっちで~す。XD
Now I'm supposed to finish packing. And I'm supposed to tidy up my room because people are going to remove the old air-conditioning unit and replace it with a new one.(*u*)/ They're doing the renovation on the 7th so I'm not here. I. NEED. TO. TIDY. UP. MY. MESSY. ROOM. *dies*
So everyone, I'll be gone for a week.( ^o^)/~ Will take lots of pictures in Singapore and Malaysia.:DDD

| | If it wasn't for the crowd, this would've been the BEST. ANIME EVENT. I HAVE BEEN TO. Why?
- MIYANO. MAMORU. IN THE FLESH.
I've watched Wolf's Rain before, but I wasn't a big fan of Kiba. He's one of the best and funniest actors in Tenimyu. HE VOICED SUOU TAMAKI OF OURAN. And he's also voicing Kiryuu Zero of the Vampire Knight anime. Wah~ Mamo-chan~! <3
- I didn't spend much on good this time, mainly because there weren't that many anime goods shops, or I wasn't really interested in girly girly loli kind of anime goods.^^; I love the Bandai Fashion (I think) shop because they were selling Kekkaishi towels, originally 1500yen, for 500 yen each. Also bought a dark blue Hakubi shirt. I wanted the white Madarao one, but I was running out of money.^^;;
- I LOVE THE KERORO MASCOT. HE'S SO CUTE I WANTED TO TAKE HIM HOME. When I pointed my camera at the mascot, he just kind of stood there just like when a platoon commander shouts "ATTENTION!" or something.
- I took a picture of Reborn! seiyuus! It was forbidden to take pictures, though.^^; And it was funny, too because I got caught by Yamamoto Takeshi's seiyuu.^^;;;;;;;;;
- What else? I SAW MIYANO MAMORU!!!<3
I didn't know the "The Egg Song" came from Korea.@_@ "Wiggle, jiggle... yellow middle..." The guy at the Korea booth was staring at me as I was singing along the song being played on the screen. |
Two words. I SURVIVED!
And if you're thinking I'm exaggerating, just take look at this picture of the sea of people waiting for Comiket to start. Picture c/o Mikko who got it somewhere As one of the crowd (Day 2) Day One (Dec 29)
Arrived at around 11:30 on Day 1 (the 29th) because I woke up late. I think that was good since we were able to get it Tokyo Big Sight after 10 minutes of waiting. Tokyo Big Sight Going up... Entrance to East and West Halls The East and West Halls are where the doujinshi and goods were. But my companions wanted to go to the cosplayers' square first. They weren't really into manga (just went with me because Big Sight's in Odaiba and they want to go sightseeing after). Stairs to Cosplayers' Area And cosplayers: Umi (Magic Knight Rayearth) Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu) Vocaloid Mascots Miku and Kaito Kakashi-sensei and Pakkun Ragnarok Online characters
I wasn't able to buy anything except for the 2000円 FuyuComi 73 Catalogue.o(T-T)o I needed to buy it so I can look for circles who are selling the doujinshi I needed to buy.>_< Went home around 3pm, empty-handed (except for that @#$@$#%&* 1-inch thick catalogue). Day Two (Dec 30)
This time I went with Hei-won, Mahendra, Carla, Andrew and Zeno. We left Mitaka Ryou at 7am and arrived in Tokyo Big Sight at around 8:50. There's this big block of people already. And of course, we went to line up. People started moving at around 9:45. So one hour of standing and waiting. I played Tetris on Zeno's DS while Zeno was reading an assigned novel for Japanese Literature and Andrew was browsing my Comike catalogue. There were many women that day, because it was Jump Day, meaning doujinshi sold at East Halls 1-6 are all Jump titles, ergo most of them are BL.\(^0^)/ So yeah, Andrew and Zeno helped me finding the booths of the circles I needed to look for. Bought doujinshis for Caro, Angela-chan, Ate Mia and Klaine. Circles that are really popular were located against the walls, because of the loooooooooooong lines that even spill out the convention halls.XO And for some pictures of East halls: Circles...
And more circles...
There's a long line of girls there waiting for their turn to buy.
 People... And more people!!!@____@ After buying the doujinshi I needed to buy, met up with my companions to go to the cosplayers' area.
 Gintama
 Evangelion
 Lambo~! I dunno where this came from, but the kid's so cute!XD I like Jeanne (the character) and the costume.=_=
Sugoi costumes.*o*
 Naruto characters. This I like.:3 Whoa. Zagato and Emeraude! \\(*0*)// For more pictures: Winter Comiket 73 (Dec 29-30, 2007)Personally, I like the cosplayers from Jump Festa.=P I didn't like the area for the cosplayers here because the cosplayers didn't have their own places so if one asked a random cosplayer who's pulling his/her stroller, they'd pose. You can't take a good picture because there are a lot of people in the background.x_x;; And you can't see all the cosplayers because they're all roaming the place.>____<;; I wasn't able to see the cosplayers from the last two pictures (nabbed them from Zeno).T--T
I also didn't bother going to the goods section because 1. there are a lot of smelly otakus lined up waiting for their goodies; 2. I used up all the money I had for doujinshi. Besides, I'm not into what they were selling, goods from anime I don't even know.^^;; The goods were mostly for the male audience, too.
So yeah, I'm thinking of going again on the summer Comiket, but still thinking because it's *summer*. Natsukomi=more people. They said that people in winter Comikets are fewer because most of the people are going back to their provinces. So yeah, summer.>< I must bring at least 10,000yen if I want to buy a lot. I only had 5,000yen when I went and 2,000 went to the catalogue, and 1,500 to doujinshi for friends.^^;; So I had to settle for 500-200 doujinshi and free ones given away by circles.:"( Not to mention, Jump Festa was a week before Comiket, and that I spent 18,000 yen on a new camera.^^;; So yeah, no more money until the 15th~! Yaay~(-___-;;)
| | Winter Comic Market held in Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba. The convention's three days long, but I only went on the first two days. |
WARNING: This post shall be image heavy since I'll be putting a lot of pictures here and there together with my comments. Day 1 (Dec 22, Saturday)Got up at around 6:30am just so we can arrive at Makuhari Messe early. The train to Kaihim-Makuhari was jampacked.x_x; Maybe 30% of the people got off at Maihama station where Disneyland is, and 60% got off at Kaihim-Makuhari, the station nearest to the convention center. Welcome to Jump Festa 2008!
Wah! The sea of people!!!>_<
We arrived at around 9:40, which means we could've arrived at the venue at 9:50-ish, but due to the number of people going to the same place, we got there at 10am. The Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Stage was from 9:30-10 something, and that meant I wasn't able to watch it.:( Plus the fact we got the place wrong. The Jump Stage was in Hall 8, and we were in Hall 3, I think. The place was huge (an understatement). You can take a look at the official website to see how big it is. I think 3-5 World Trade Centers can fit inside Halls 1-8. Yeah, that big. Anyway, we just looked around, and saw this booth where for 500 yen you can get a prize from a lottery. I got the 3rd best prize but switched it with Klao's (hers was the 4th prize) since I'm not into Bleach plush dolls. I chose a handkerchief with the Gotei 13 printed on it, and looking at it now reminds me of our Bleach photoshoot ages ago. Gotei 13 Hankachi
Then we saw the crane games which for 100 yen, you can get One Piece's Chopper plushie, or Gintama character plushies. I tried the 200 yen one, because the prize was a huggable Lambo plushie. I also wanted the Sadaharu one (from Gintama) but of course, I liked Lambo first so yeah, I queued up for the Lambo one. Unfortunately, after three turns, I couldn't get Lambo so boo me.:( We went to the cosplayers' area to take pictures, because here you can only take pictures of cosplayers in the cosplayers' area. There were lots and by lots I mean LOTS of Reborn cosplayers, then I don't know which has more cosplayers, Gintama or D. Gray-Man, followed by Bleach and Naruto. Seeing these cosplayers was a refreshing experience, because you can count on your fingers the number of Naruto cosplayers. Hell yeah.XD My favorite ones would be... Tsuna, Hibari, Gokudera and Yamamoto (Orange Jumpsuit version)
Is that Squallo? Ooh~ I dunno.>_< And of course, Xanxus.=P
Then we were off to the Jump Stage! On the way we saw the Marvelous Entertainment, Inc. stage (also known as MMV, the one who brought us the Prince of Tennis Musicals). It's a good thing we stopped there, because minutes later, the seiyuus from Katekyo Hitman Reborn! appeared!!! Wah~ I'm so happy~! There were the voice actors/actresses of Reborn, Tsuna, Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Ryohei. There was a time when Inoue-san, Yamamoto's seiyuu just said that sometimes he thinks he is Yamamoto, and after that Niiko (Reborn's seiyuu) accidentally called him Yamamoto.XD And there was a segment where they had to imitate Reborn's chameleon, Leon using clay. Hidenobu's (Ryouhei) was a horrible imitation of Leon (looked more like a mutilated lizard), the best IMO was Inoue's but Ichinose (Gokudera) won. He didn't make it on time so he just molded the clay into what looked like a hammer. Then he explained that Leon shape-shifted into a hammer. *sweatdrop* The Reborn part ended there, and the next was the Rikkai boys from Tenimyu. We didn't watch that, and I ate lunch instead. Oh, if anyone's wondering why I don't have pictures of the Reborn seiyuus, taking pictures was prohibited, especially when you're inside the audience area. I could've chosen to take pictures from afar, but the yellow jumpsuited guys (also known as Jump Festa staff) were everywhere and they were constantly reminding people to either go inside the audience area or stay away.^^;; There was also an event in the Aniplex stage. Really, the different booths had overlapping guest appearances so when there was the Reborn appearance on the MMV stage, the Gintama seiyuus also were on the Jump stage.x_x;; We didn't know about the Naruto seiyuu's appearance in the Aniplex stage so were arrived there when everyone was saying their last messages to the audience.>_< But still, I was able to see Takeuchi Junko, Sugiyama Noriaki, and the best of all KAZUHIKO INOUE in the flesh!!! *spazz* We went to look at the shops again, and this time we were able to see Junko upclose!!! She was in the Takara Tomy booth where they were promoting the Naruto game on Wii. There were no billboards with camera/cellphone and a big X on them, so yay for pictures and VIDEOS! Click here and here for videos.:D Takeuchi Junko! Wii!!!XD
The only other shot that's not blurry.x_x;
We also saw a Kon, Chocobo and Reborn mascots! Of course, we took pictures!XD Kon and the Chocobo were so adorable we wanted to take them home!!!o(>_<)o
*glomps Chocobo*
*glomps Kon*
Now this makes you wonder how an adult can wear such a short mascot.x_x;
By this time, the event was going to finish so I'll just put the merchandise I bought that day: Vongola Shirt (front view) Why Vongole? Because the family name is spelled ボンゴレファミリー in Katakana.:)
And back view
Of course, I bought a KHR! 2008 calendar :D
Day Two (Dec. 23, Sunday)
Klao and I didn't go early this time. We arrived there at around 12:20, just in time to queue up for the Naruto Stage. Takeuchi Junko, Non-tan, Nakamura Chie, Kazuhiko Inoue and Kishimoto-sensei were the guests. The opening was awesome, and it gave me the goosebumps. They showed panels from the manga, but the difference is that it's like you are watching a monochromatic anime, since there were the voice overs by Junko and Non-tan, and the sound effects. It was so cool.XD For the readers of the manga, you'd all know by now that Naruto's shishou, Jiraiya died in the last chapter, so that was the topic for the event. Here are the winner lines from Kishimoto-sensei: Kishimoto: Iya, Jiraiya wa... shindeimasen... (No, Jiraiya is not dead) Seiyuu-tachi + Audience: Eeeeh?! Kishimoto: Naruto no kokoro no naka ni ikiteimasu. (He lives in Naruto's heart)
Klao and I wanted to snipe him then and there. “o( ̄‐ ̄*)
After the Naruto Stage, we went to the original goods area to buy stuff. Unfortunately, the Tsuna mug and pillow and the KHR! Shopping Bag were all sold out, so I was able to get only these desk pads:
Top: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Bottom: Gintama
I was so depressed I went to the crane machines again to try to get the Lambo plush doll. The line was long, and it took me almost 30 minutes before I was able to play. I used up all my turns and guess what? Lambo GET!!!
Other stuff I bought were:
| | The annual event of Shounen Jump at Makuhari Messe Convention Center, Chiba Prefecture
This album has a matching entry, so I'll be posting everything there.:3

よし、よし! December is near, and being an animanga fan in Japan, this can only mean two things:
ジャンプフェスタ 2008 2007年 12月 22日(土)-23日(日) 時間: 9:00-17:00 幕張メッセ国際展示場
Jump Festa 2008 Dec 22-23, 2007 9am-5pm Makuhari Messe Convention Center
コミックマーケット (コミケト) 73 2007年 12月 29日(土)-31日(月) 東京ビッグサイト Comic Market (Comiket) 73 Dec 29-31 2007 Tokyo Big Site
Yes. Jump Festa and Comiket. No entrance fees. \(*0*)/
But the transpo's going to kill us. Jump Festa's in Chiba and it takes 890円 (around Php450) from Kichijoji to Kaihinmakuhari (the nearest station to the convention center). Nearly 4000円 (Php2000) in just two days? *dies* Why??? Why does Jump Festa have to be in CHIBA?!*cries*
Comiket's in Tokyo so it's cheaper. Doujinshi~(*o*)o I hope I can find some Yu-Gi-Oh! doujinshi for Klaine.:3
JoKlausen Enriquez Macenas, you'd better be looking for a place in Chiba where we can stay overnight.>D
PS. Will father and long lost egg daughter be reunited at last in this year's Jump Festa? We'll soon find out.XD
 | Day 33 | Nov 3, '07 9:32 PM for everyone |
Klao, Winston and I went to Chuo University's School Festival today.:) We watched the mens' cheering squad (LOL) and bought a lot of things at the flea market. ♥♥♥ Too bad, Ate Lizz had baito (Karen said) so I wasn't able to meet her.;A; I was hoping to meet her today.
I bought a bag for 100円, a knitted dress for 400円, a new pair of shoes for 500円 and...
FOO~!
If you push the "HG" on his cap, it'll go "FOO!" or "Oh-kay!" or "Say say say!" and other Engrish I don't understand.XD I bought it only for 100円. HAH! *points at Klausen*
Then Karen brought us to Hachioji to show us the way to the Filipino store. Uwah~(*0*) I realized how much I have taken for granted seeing Filipino de latas, Mang Tomas or even Chocnut. They're quite expensive, though... but still! Filipino shokuhin! Yay~ \(^o^)/
But of course, for the manga fan side of me, the best part of the day was getting free tankoubons! Yay~! It's a good thing Karen wasn't an anime/manga fan, so she didn't need these 14 volumes of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and Trinity Blood. I got volumes 7, 9-15 of TRC, and volumes 1-6 of ToriBura. Yatta! Only 2 more to go, which I can buy at some honya. TORIBURA~ (*0*)// Much love and thanks to Karen (even though I'm not sure she will be able to read this or not)!
Today was tiring, but I haven't had this much fun in such a long time. It was always reading readings and doing homeworks for me. Yay~(^-^)/
